Growing with Wiggly at the Heritage Hub

Growing at the Hub gardens

Wiggly is proud to be collaborating with the wonderful Project Grow and the Gloucestershire Heritage Hub in a project to grow 50% of the vegetables used by Wiggly to support community cookery in Gloucester at the Hub’s existing community garden.

The Hub and the Wiggly kitchens are less than 0.5 miles apart so this is a fantastic project to make the case for a more sustainable community food system with minimal waste and packaging.   All plants grown and cultivated by our wonderful volunteers are chemical-free and planted with love.

It is so important to Wiggly that as many of our vegetables as possible are locally grown and seasonal, keeping costs down and maximising flavour.  There is minimal storage required or transport needed (just a short walk!) to take the produce straight from the ground to our Wiggly kitchens for our participants to cook up into delicious meals.

Wiggly and Project Grow will be launching to the community at the Hub’s Earth Day event on May 4th 2024 where Wiggly will be cooking up a light lunch with a seasonal vegetable focus for the community to enjoy.
