This May, Wiggly was delighted to begin a new partnership with the Gloucester Dementia Choir. The connection started when the choir reached out to explore working together. As we are always looking for meaningful ways to bring people together through food, we were excited to get involved.

Coming Together for Dementia Action Week

As part of Dementia Action Week, Wiggly joined the choir and other local organisations for a community event on 22nd May, hosting a Wiggly cake sale.

Our Wiggly chefs, Ryan and Jane, and chef assistant Tom, baked a fantastic selection of homemade cakes, which went down wonderfully with everyone attending. The event was uplifting, welcoming, and full of opportunities to connect, exactly the kind of environment we love being part of.

Making Connections That Matter

The day wasn’t just about cake. The event also gave us the opportunity to meet other organisations and individuals, including Dementia UK, Alzheimer’s Society, and local NHS teams.

We were also pleased to raise funds to support our cookery courses and workshops, which will help us continue to reduce barriers to cooking and accessing good, healthy, home-cooked food.

Looking Ahead

This event marked the beginning of an ongoing partnership. We’re looking forward to returning to future Gloucester Dementia Choir sessions with our Wiggly chefs and their cakes and bakes. Collaboration is one of Wiggly’s core values, and we are always keen to explore new and meaningful partnerships like this one.

A big thank you to the Gloucester Dementia Choir for such a warm welcome. We can’t wait to be back.
